The Foundling - Georgette Heyer

Audible only recently added this title to its offerings so it has been many, many years since I read this one.

I wanted to add Belinda to my list of 'slapable' young females in Heyer canon (like Julia in A Civil Contract and the the bratty ward in A Lady of Quality)  but frankly she is just too pitiable. At the same time, you don't want to hug her and make it better because she just doesn't push the sympathy button either. Brava, Georgette on a character well done.

As for Gilly, our hero, I want to compare him with his polar opposite, the Devil's Cub himself, Dominic, Marquis of Vidal. They are both the same age and both at a turning point in their young lives. While Vidal has long since been my favorite scamp, Gilly may soon join  him on my list favored heroes simply because he is so unlike Vidal.
