Once a Crooked Man - David McCallum

A cute but totally preposterous tale of the criminal underworld. A wise-guys send up. This one is not about 'character development' or 'writing style.' It is simply about a story that is fun to read --or in my case listen to. Fun but flawed read.

For this one, I broke my rule about not reading books that are narrated by the author. I congratulate the producers for choosing not to let the Scotsman try to reproduce a New York accent, or even an American one, for the main character. Ducky, you can read me a book any time!

Three stars and a quarter stars.
