Iris: A Memoir of Iris Murdoch - John Bayley

I just watched the 2001 movie Iris based on this memoir written by Murdoch's husband.  At the Oscars, Whoopi Goldberg called the movie "depressing."  While I found it sad and bittersweet and went through two boxes of tissues, I would not call it depressing. Winslet-Dench were good but Bonneville-Broadbent were amazing!

So, now it's time to read one of her novels and I just don't know which one of the eleven titles that Audible has in its library to choose. I figured I would just poll the audience and see what you all have to say.

Thanks in advance for your input!

Here are my choices:

  • Henry and Cato
  • The Flight from the Enchanter
  • The Good Apprentice
  • The Time of Angels
  • The Italian Girl
  • Bruno's Dream
  • The Philospher's Pupil
  • A Word Child
  • The Message to the Planet
  • Jackson's Dilemma
  • The Red and the Green
