As hard as Nasar tried, I still found the book depressing and Nash to be an unlikable person. (The movie did not do the book justice and in fact I would call it a fairytale based on the book). Nevertheless, the book is fascinating because of the people who surround Nash, personally and professionally, and because Nasar was so good at explaining the math and science history that is so much a part of the Nash story.
However, the narrator was terrible. She put too much of her own interpretation on the text and bungled too many pronunciations of strange words. I cringed every time she mispronounced the name of mathematician von Neuman! It's Noyman not Newman!!!!!
I'll give the book 4 stars for the text but only 2 for the narrator/performance.
